AASHTO Transportation TV News Update—Life saving program trains 200,000

In this Transportation TV News Update we take you to USDOT headquarters in Washington, for a celebration marking a milestone in a program designed to save lives. Deputy Federal Highway Administrator David Kim announced Wednesday, Aug. 10 that 200,000 emergency responders had completed Traffic Incident Management (TIM) training. According to the National Highway Institute three injury crashes occur every minute in the United States, putting nearly 39,000 incident responders potentially in harm's way every day. TIM gives emergency responders the training they need to work collaboratively through a shared understanding of the requirements for safe, rapid, clearance of traffic incident scenes.
