SHRP2 Pavement Preservation Program for High Traffic Volume Roadways

Pavement preservation is an essential part of the work State Departments of Transportation do. The process of preserving pavement can become more complicated as the number of vehicles on a roadway increases.  This valuable solution, available through the Second Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP2) offers a systematic and comprehensive program designed to expand the use of pavement preservation on high-traffic roads. This solution which is designed to help save money, reduce traffic congestion and improve roadway safety is based on the findings from a comprehensive survey of transportation agencies and a review of existing preservation techniques.
