Halket Street Paving Saturday in Oakland

Pittsburgh, PA – PennDOT District 11 is announcing milling and paving operations on Halket Street in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur Saturday, November 9 weather permitting. 

Intermittent closures of Halket Street between Fifth Avenue and Forbes Avenue will occur according to the following schedule: 

  • Saturday 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. – Closures for milling operations

  • Saturday noon to 3 p.m. – Closures for paving operations

Motorists from Fifth Avenue will use Craft Avenue to Forbes Avenue to Halket Street as the detour.  Motorists from Forbes Avenue will use McKee Place to Fifth Avenue back to Halket Street as the detour.

Additionally, intermittent closures will occur on Halket Street between Forbes Avenue and the Boulevard of the Allies.

The work is part of the $10.19 million Forbes Avenue improvement project.

Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 950 traffic cameras.

511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA website.
