UPDATE: Work finished up early today, and all lanes and ramps of northbound I-5 at the Duwamish River have reopened. Crews will flip the closure to the right side next weekend to work on the other half of the expansion joints.
Drivers should prepare for delays on northbound I-5 in South King County this weekend.
To complete emergency expansion join repair, contractor crews will reduce northbound I-5 on Tukwila to only the two
right lanes beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20. All lanes will reopen by
11:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22.
Then on the following weekend, at 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, crews will shift all traffic to the two left lanes until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29.
