Weekend-long closure of eastbound SR 500, between Thurston Way and I-5 in Vancouver for paving, Aug. 16-19
VANCOUVER – Travelers who use eastbound State Route 500 in Vancouver will need to use an alternate route this weekend.
Beginning on Friday, Aug. 16, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close
all lanes of eastbound SR 500 between Northeast Thurston Way and Interstate 5, as part of a project to
pave this vital stretch of roadway.

began Aug. 5, and will continue through early fall. Travelers should expect delays on
both directions of SR 500 between I-5 and Northeast Fourth Plain Boulevard (State Route 503) due to intermittent overnight single and double lane closures.
Travelers should slow down in the work zone and expect delays of up to 20 minutes.
