Intermittent Lane Closures in Southbound
Third Street Tunnel Begin July 14 

(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will intermittently close single lanes in the southbound Third Street Tunnel beginning Sunday, July 14 for milling and paving.


This phase of repaving will last approximately two weeks through July 27. All work will be performed overnight between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. At least one lane of traffic will remain open at all times.

Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays and are advised to stay alert while traveling through the on-ramp and while in the tunnel.
