Subcommittee of the Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles meets May 20

The AV Task Force Subcommittee on Vehicle Code Amendments and Public Safety meets May 20 in Salem

Salem, Ore. – The Task Force on Autonomous Vehicles' Subcommittee on Vehicle Code Amendments and Public Safety will meet Monday, May 20, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. in Room 340 at the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol St. N.E., Salem.

Serena Hewitt of the General Counsel Division of the Department of Justice will present on definitions in the vehicle code, how the current definitions relate to automated vehicles and the intersection with Oregon case law.

The task force was created by House Bill 4063, which names 31 stakeholders as members, including four legislators, state agency representatives, law enforcement, truck and automobile interests, technology company representatives, consumer interests, worker interests and more. 

The agenda for all task force and subcommittee meetings will include time for public comment, which can also be submitted via email to OregonAVTaskForce@odot.state.or.us.
