Public Meeting:

Thursday, February 21, 2019, between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to be held at the Upstate Family Resource Center cafeteria, at 1850 Old Furnace Road, Boiling Springs, SC 29316. This meeting will be conducted in an “open house” format with displays for viewing. Interested persons may attend this informal meeting at any time between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m., during which South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) representatives will be available to answer questions regarding the proposed project.



The SC 9 (Boiling Springs Road) project is approximately 0.5-mile-long beginning at

I-85 and terminating at Rogers Commerce Boulevard. Proposed improvements would include widening SC 9 to add a third travel lane in each direction from I-85 to the Shoally Creek Road/4th Street intersection. Improvements will also be made at the intersections of SC 9 at Candlenut Lane and SC 9 at 4th Street/Shoally Creek Road. The purpose of the meeting is to provide information and solicit feedback concerning the proposed intersection improvements project. Another purpose of the meeting will be to gather information from the public or any interested organization on historic or cultural resources in the area. SCDOT is seeking input as a part of this public information meeting to assist in identifying information relative to this project. 



Tentative project schedules for completion of the project will be discussed. Maps of the project study area will be available, and citizens may ask questions and provide comments regarding the possible social, economic and environmental effects of the project.  Property owners and business owners on or near the project area are urged to attend.
