AASHTO is taking applications through Oct. 27 to hire a manager of information technology, a position to be located in its Washington, D.C., offices.
The person hired for that job will report to the director of finance and administration, and will oversee all aspects of AASHTO's headquarters office information technology.

The IT manager will be responsible for development, administration and maintenance of the association's IT infrastructure and equipment, including servers, security solutions, network, computer hardware, software and telephones.
That includes, among other things, supporting system upgrades, installations, conversions and file maintenance, and overseeing backups, archiving, disaster recovery and emergency preparedness. The manager is expected to build and maintain vendor relationships, and manage purchases of equipment, products and supplies while ensuring that company IT assets are maintained responsibly.
The IT manager will also supervise an IT support specialist and manage contractors as needed.
