Temporary Overnight Bridge Closure on
Monroe Street Bridge March 16


(Washington, DC) – The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close both lanes of traffic on the Monroe Street NE Bridge on Saturday, March 16 from 2:00 am until 5:00 am, weather permitting.

 

This temporary bridge closures is necessary to complete work related to the Reconstruction of Monroe Street NE Bridge Project. The contractor will pour concrete to build the bridge columns. During this activity, motorists will be detoured on northbound 7th Street NE to Michigan Avenue NE to 10th Street NE. Pedestrians will be able to access the sidewalk on the north side of the bridge.  

 

DDOT will provide flaggers and signage to guide traffic around the work zone and maintain public safety. The sidewalk on the north side will remain open at all times.

 

Motorists should expect delays and are advised to stay alert when traveling through this area.
