OAHU LANE CLOSURES

FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 11 – MARCH 17

 

PLEASE NOTE:

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. 
All projects are weather permitting.

 

--- H-1 FREEWAY ---

 

1) AIEA
Alternating lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between Kaonohi Street Overpass and Kaahumanu Street Overpass on Monday, March 13, through Thursday, March 16, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., for pothole patching.

 

2) HALAWA (WEEKEND WORK)

Two left lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Kaneohe/Honolulu Off-Ramp (Exit 13B) and the Aiea Heights Drive Overpass on Saturday, March 11, from 5 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for maintenance work.

 

3) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in both directions between the Middle Street Overpass and the Pali Highway Overpass on Sunday night, March 12, through Friday morning, March 17, from 9 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., nightly, for pavement marking installations.

 

4) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)

Lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the vicinity of the Aala Street Overpass, for a concrete pour to install a CCTV camera.

 

·         Left lane will be closed in both directions on Monday night, March 13, through Thursday morning, March 16, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.

·         Two to three lanes will be closed in the eastbound direction on Thursday night, March 16, through Friday morning, March 17, from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

 

5) KAPOLEI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Closure of the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Makakilo Drive Overpass and the Kalaeloa Boulevard Overpass on Sunday night, March 12, through Friday morning, March 17, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, to install a temporary platform for the Kapolei Interchange Complex, Phase 2 project.

 

All westbound motorists will be detoured at the Makakilo/Kapolei/Kalaeloa Off-Ramp (Exit 2) and be directed to Farrington Highway/Kamokila Boulevard, Wakea Street, and the Farrington Highway On-Ramp. The westbound Makakilo Drive On-Ramp will be closed during the closure hours. 

 

6) PEARL HARBOR
Alternating lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in both directions at the Pearl Harbor Interchange on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., for maintenance work.

 

7) PEARL HARBOR

Left lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction at the Radford Drive Overpass on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for concrete pour.

 

 

--- H-3 FREEWAY ---

 

1) KANEOHE

Right lane closure on the H-3 Freeway in both directions on Tuesday, March 14, through Wednesday, March 15, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., for maintenance work.

 

 

--- FARRINGTON HIGHWAY ---

 

1) NANAKULI

Right lane closure on Farrington Highway in the westbound direction between Piliokahi Avenue and Nanakuli Avenue on Wednesday, March 15, through Friday, March 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., for guardrail improvements.

 

2) NANAKULI

Lane closure on Farrington Highway in the eastbound direction between Lualei Place and Mohihi Street on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for drainage and traffic signal improvements.

 

3) WAIALUA

Lane closure on Farrington Highway in the northbound direction at the Puuiki Street intersection on Thursday, March 16, through Friday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for maintenance work.

 

4) WAIALUA TO MOKULEIA

Roving lane closure on Farrington Highway in both directions between Kaukonahua Road and Dillingham Airfield on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., for maintenance work.

 

5) WAIANAE

Roving lane closure on Farrington Highway in both directions between Maiuu Road and Makaha Valley Road on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., for maintenance work.

 

6) WAIANAE

Shoulder closure on Farrington Highway in the eastbound direction between Glenmonger Street and Leihoku Street on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for maintenance work.

 

7) WAIANAE

Left lane closure on Farrington Highway in the westbound direction between Leihoku Street and Ala Poko Street on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for asphalt restoration.

 

 

--- KAHEKILI HIGHWAY ---

 

1) KANEOHE

Lane closure on Kahekili Highway in the westbound direction between Haiku Road and West Hui Iwa Street on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., for paving work.

Right lane closure on Kahekili Highway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of Haiku Road on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., for guardrail repairs.

1) AINA HAINA

Right lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway in the eastbound direction between Waiholo Street and Waa Street on Monday, March 13, through Tuesday, March 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for guardrail improvements.

 

2) HAWAII KAI
Roving lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway in both directions between Hanauma Bay Road and Makai Pier on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., for maintenance work.

 

3) WAIMANALO

Lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway in the westbound direction between Flamingo Street and Kumuhau Street on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for retaining wall work. Traffic will be contraflowed during this time.

1) HALAWA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in the westbound direction between Kohomua Street and Kamehameha Highway On-Ramp to the eastbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway, for The Rail project.

 

·         Friday night, March 10, through Sunday morning, March 12, and Monday night, March 13, through Friday morning, March 17, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.

·         Saturday, March 11, and Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in both directions between Ikuwai Place and Tutu Place on Monday, March 13, through Tuesday, March 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for maintenance work.

Roving lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in both directions between Waialua Beach Road and Kahekili Highway on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., daily, for maintenance work.


5) HAUULA

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway between Haleaha Road and Puhuli Street on Tuesday, March 14, through Wednesday, March 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for electrical maintenance work. Traffic will be contraflowed.

 

6) KAAAWA

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in the southbound direction between Kaaawa Place and Kaaawa Valley Road, on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for bridge railing work. Traffic will be contraflowed.

 

7) MILILANI

Lane closures on Kamehameha Highway in both directions between Ka Uka Boulevard and Waihau Street on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for sign replacements. One lane in both directions will be open for motorists at all times.

 

Motorists are advised to expect traffic delays and use alternate roadways such as Kuahelani Avenue, Meheula Parkway, Lanikuhana Avenue, Ka Uka Boulevard and the H-2 freeway.

 

8) MILILANI

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in the southbound direction between Lanikuhana Avenue and Ka Uka Boulevard on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for slope repair and landscaping work. Traffic will be contraflowed.

 

9) PEARL HARBOR

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway in the eastbound direction between Kohomua Street and the eastbound H-1 Freeway On-Ramp on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for The Rail project.

Traffic will be contraflowed.

The bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic and open to pedestrians and bicyclists. Traffic will be detoured around the closure.

Lane closure on Kalihi Street in both directions at the N. King Street intersection on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for maintenance work.

1) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Temporary closures of the Overseas Terminal 2nd level departure roadway on Sunday night, March 12, through Friday morning, March 17, from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., nightly, for maintenance and repairs. The public will still be able to drop off departing passengers during these hours, but may need to access the curbside from the outer roadway. The traveling public should expect a slightly longer walking distance from the drop-off area to the airline ticketing counters.

BIG ISLAND LANE CLOSURES

--- HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) ---

 

1) HAKALAU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Alternating lane closures on Umauma Bridge in the vicinity of Hakalau (Route 19, Mile Marker 16) in both directions over a twenty-four hour period, seven days a week for bridge rehabilitation. Travel speed on Umauma Bridge is reduced to 20-mph, and vehicles that exceed statutory size-weight limits will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis upon application of their respective oversize-overweight vehicle permits. Maximum width for any vehicle with permit passing over the bridge is 12 feet.

 

2) PEPEEKEO TO HAKALAU

Alternating single lane closures on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions between Mile Markers 10 and 15.6 in the vicinity of Pepeekeo to Hakalau on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for roadway improvements.

 

 

--- SADDLE ROAD (ROUTE 200) ---

 

1) UPPER KAUMANA

Alternating single lane closures on Saddle Road (Highway 200) in both directions between Mile Marker 8 and Mile Marker 12 in the vicinity of upper Kaumana on Monday, March 13, through Friday, March 17, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., daily, for grading of the new Daniel K. Inouye Highway, East Side alignment.
